16 So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” Dan 6:16 (NIV)
All across the world manufactures are constantly producing products that they feel if the consumer will just try it for thirty days they will be addicted to it. Some of the advertisement reads “Free Thirty Day Trial!” Hoping that after thirty days people will become loyal to their product. Some of these items offered are habit forming. After a continued use of the product for a length of time by a person it can become a habit or an
However, this same idea holds true for “Good Habits” as well. If we floss, exercise, eat salads for lunch or commit to watching our language for thirty days, we will more than likely develop a positive habit!
I believe we often overlook the Holy Habits of Daniel. I sometimes ask myself “What was Daniel’s secret?” I think king Darius revealed the secret in our scripture verse today. Daniel’s steadfastness, strength of character and faith grew out of his habits of holiness. He consistently did the right thing, and the more he did right the harder it became for him to do wrong. Daniel had a very strong prayer life. He would pray three times a day. This proves that he served God continually. Habits just don’t happen, we develop them. When we repeat an action day after day, it eventually becomes automatic. We do it without even thinking about it.
If you and I want to become more like Daniel, we need to develop new “Good Habits.”
Praying, memorizing Scripture, Spending extended time in worship would be a great start for you and I. Let’s make it our habit to “Serve God Continually” in every decision, statement and act.

Well fall is in the air! Falling leaves, apples, pumpkins, crisp cool nights!!
What a great summer we had. A bit warm though. I think they said it was the hottest September in a long time.
Well you know we sometimes go along thinking we know what we are doing and then we are in trouble. We forget to include God in our plans. Big mistake!! Here is a little devotional to help. God bless you all and have a great fall!!
Flying Blind
Sitting in the copilot’s seat, Hannah held the control wheel of the Skyhawk. She loved flying with her dad, who sometimes let her steer the small plane. “Try keeping us straight and level without looking outside,” he challenged. Closing her eyes, Hannah giggled. “Okay.” Her sense of balance told her she was on course.
But when her dad said, “Open your eyes,” she saw she was banking left and diving toward the ground! As she leveled the plane, he said, “Now
watch the attitude indicator. It shows the plane’s attitude, or position, in the sky.” He
tapped an instrument on the dashboard. It had two short lines representing the airplane’s wings, and a longer line representing the horizon. Hannah stared at it, making sure the “wings” didn’t tip right or left or move up or down. When she looked up, the plane was flying perfectly.
If you trust your senses to tell you what’s right and wrong, you’ll make bad choices and get into trouble. (See Proverbs 14:12) God’s commands are like an attitude indicator. They keep you flying safe and headed in the right direction.
Bible verse: This command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life. – Proverbs 6:23
Life in Bible Times: During the time of the judges, the Israelites did whatever seemed best to them. That kept getting them off track. They were following their own feelings instead of obeying God’s commands. (See Judges 21:25.)
OK folks, I promise at some point summer will get the memo that fall is here and it can cool down! When it finally does we can all enjoy watching the leaves turn different colors. The “harvest” time of year makes me think of Matthew 9:37-38 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” The harvest He speaks of here are souls waiting to be saved and the laborers are you and me! God needs us to harvest people for Him, as we do we have the opportunity to create more laborers to harvest even more souls.
I hope everyone is able to enjoy this time of year, have a good time carving pumpkins and try not to eat too much candy!

Verse of the Month
Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Hello Everyone!
We met at Ethel’s Place on September 17th, and seven women were in attendance. One very important member, Mary our President and leader, was unable to attend due to illness. We lifted her up praying for healing and comfort! We look forward to her return. Cindy Ehlers kindly filled in for Mary.
Well, Fall is here, but it feels more like summer with the hottest temperatures occurring in September. We desperately need rain especially the farmers. So, please be in prayer for them. The Fall colors will not be pretty due to the drought, but we do have a lot to be thankful for.
Revelations was the Bible book for September. Ecclesiastes is the book for October. Happy reading!
The ABW Association meeting was held Thursday evening, September 19th, at First Baptist Church in order to plan the Fall Conference. The Madison Association Fall Conference will be held at Wirt Baptist Church on October 14th. Registration is at 4:30; program begins at 5:00; pitch-in dinner at 6:00; and the service will start at 7:00. We want to invite all the women of our church. If you would rather not drive, we will meet at NMBC at 4:15 to ride to Wirt Baptist Church. It is a good time to fellowship with other women and to learn about the Association and the mission work that is done. Good food and a good time while doing the work of the Lord!
The Edna Martin Mission in Indianapolis is one of the missions that NMBC ABW women will be
providing assistance to in October.
I am excited and happy to announce that on October 12th at 2:00 pm at NMBC, we will be inducting Dottie Kring into the Hall of Fame. Please join us for this celebration of her life and service to the Lord. It will be held in the church sanctuary.
As a final note, we are updating our Prayer Chain. It is an important role in our Christian lives to pray for others in need. Any woman interested in being on the Prayer Chain may notify Cindy Ehlers, and your name will be added. When we comfort others through prayers, we are comforted also. God is the Great Physician and Counselor!
Our next ABW meeting will be on Tuesday, October 22nd at 6:30 pm at Ethel’s Place. We are a fun bunch of ladies having a good time serving the Lord. Please join us and see for yourself!!
In Christian Love, Nancy
P.S. Mark your calendar for October 12th at 2:00 pm for our Hall of Fame celebration!!
